Kodaiji Temple, founded by Nene (Kitano Mandokoro), wife of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, preserves the grandeur of the Momoyama period. Its buildings and gardens, designated as National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties, speak of over 400 years of history.

Kodaiji, Kiyomizu-dera, Yasaka Shrine, and Ninenzaka/Sannenzaka are all within walking distance—an ideal location for strolling in kimono.
Staff who can assist in English, Simplified/Traditional Chinese, Korean, and French are on site. Please join with confidence, even if you’re concerned about language.
Children’s kimono are available (approx. 90–150 cm). Zazen and matcha experiences are available from age 6. Please inquire about children’s pricing.
You may enjoy sightseeing in kimono until the return time (18:00). Rain gear is available free on rainy days.
Cherry blossom (late Mar–early Apr) and autumn foliage (Oct–Nov) seasons are very busy. We recommend booking at least two weeks in advance.
